Rich Pickett, CIO at San Diego State, and one of the long term EBS gurus, has found a unique way to turn California's extensive furloughs into something very worthwhile for the people of Haiti.  Rich is a pilot and has been flying volunteer relief missions to Haiti, using his furlough days (along with lots of his vacation time), providing basic survival supplies so badly needed by Haitians coping with one of the great natural disasters of all time.  Rich has found a way to use his skills to provide direct support for a people in need.  He has created a blog with some amazing and sometimes heartbreaking stories of his trips and his experiences on the ground.  You can follow his blog at:

Great job, Rich...and thanks from all of us
