History of WHEPSUG and the Start of HEUGUM (HEUG Upper Midwest)
This will be the 11th Annual Conference for the Wisconsin Higher Education PeopleSoft User group and the third year we have formally included Higher Ed Institutions from outside of Wisconsin. WHEPSUG began as a grass roots meeting of users mostly from the Registrar and Admission Offices of the UW System Schools that were early adaptors of the PeopleSoft Student Information System. The first WHEPSUG Conference was an add-on to the Wisconsin Association of College Registrars and Admission officer annual meeting. As the number UW System Universities implementing the PeopleSoft Student Information System grew, WHEPSUG grew to include Technical, Financial Aid and Student Financials topics at the annual conference which grew to event. WHEPSUG expanded to include several Colleges from the Wisconsin Technical College System as they choose PeopleSoft for their Student Information System and Marquette University was added when they became a PeopleSoft institution.
In 2009 at the request of the Northern Iowa Univeristy Oracle Campus Solutions implementation consultant, CIBER, WHEPSUG welcomed a group from Northern Iowa University at our Annual Conference. 2010 marked the beginning of a partnership with the HEUG. HEUG provided support to formally invite HEUG member institutions in the Upper Midwest Region and vendor partners. The 2010 Conference was our largest ever with 350 registered attendees and 11 vendor partners. Together the attendees and vendors provided 53 sessions and workshops across 7 tracks: Financial Aid, General Interest, HRS, Reporting, Student Records and Admissions, and Technical
