Please join us as we share UMUC’s journey to expand the delivered PeopleSoft (PS) method of manually capturing transfer course articulations and building transfer credit “rules” to the automated transfer credit workflow process used today. From the time we went live with PS 8.0 in 2005, UMUC has enjoyed the benefit of a technically robust, custom process allowing authorized users to upload a data file that automatically populates the 5 to 7 pages of data needed in PS to support transfer credit evaluations. As the number of articulation requests has grown, we realized the need for additional touch points and automation. To that end, we have recently joined forces with our technical partners to create a custom workflow process. This new process automatically generates course articulation requests for any transfer course entered into our system for which no transfer credit rule exists and further automates the process of building those rules.
