Umesh leads the HR Systems team and its PeopleSoft practice at Deakin University in Melbourne to deliver, develop, support and enhance the University’s principle HR Management System, PeopleSoft. PeopleSoft HCM is one of the core Deakin Systems, which supports the University in its strategic endeavours. Umesh also has experience in leading multiple projects along with managing staff.
Under Umesh's leadership Deakin has been on the forefront of HR technology by keeping the product up to date and continuously enhancing PeopleSoft HCM to ensure optimum user experience. Deakin University has received three consecutive PeopleSoft Innovators Awards.
Umesh is a motivated professional with multiple years of experience in HR Systems, Solution Designing, Business Analysis, Web Development/Communication and Web Accessibility Compliance. He has worked across various industries including Education and Information Technology.
He has been awarded Masters of Business in Human Resource Management and also holds a MBA in Information Technology along with Post Graduate Diploma in ERP Systems. His qualification along with his experience gives him further appreciation of the function and enables him to provide high level Techno Functional expertise in the HCM space.
Umesh is a member of several PeopleSoft focus groups and regularly attends and presents at the Alliance Down Under conference.
Umesh’s current key focus is to
- Identify opportunities for enhancement and innovation in the use of PeopleSoft HCM to ensure it is providing the optimal employee experience
- Ensure effective change management processes for optimal user adoption
- Connect with the global PeopleSoft community and establish an ongoing opportunity for collaboration and information sharing
- Further establish Deakin as an innovative user of PeopleSoft HCM by contributing to user forums where we can help guide the future development of the PeopleSoft platform
