Dan first joined IUPUI in 2005 and his current role there is as the campus bursar, which also has responsibility for banking and financial operations. He is active in the HEUG, having recently served as the vice president of finance and treasurer from 2013-2019.  Prior to joining IUPUI, Dan worked at PeopleSoft in the Higher Education Campus Solutions practice as a consultant and Student Financials Product Lead.  He also served as a financial applications analyst and functional team lead for the Accounts Receivable and Billing products.

Dan's higher education experience included positions as assistant vice president for business and finance, director of auxiliary services and assistant director of budgets in the University System of Georgia, as well as other professional positions directing student/financial systems implementations, financial accounting and reporting, student account management and university budgeting.

Dan earned his master’s degree in technology management from the Southern Polytechnic State University (now a campus of Kennesaw State University) in Marietta, Georgia. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration/economics from the University of West Georgia and is a graduate of the Leadership Development Institute, W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University and the College Business Management Institute at the University of Kentucky.  Dan has completed the Indiana University Management Training Series and the Fiscal Officers' Development Series.
