I consider myself fortunate to work in IT and higher education, two fields I enjoy.
I have over 20 years of IT experience implementing medium to large-scale projects in aerospace, state government and education. I’ve worked at the Los Rios Community College District in California for the last 10 years. Los Rios is the 2nd largest community college district in California serving more than 75,000 students.
During this time I’ve had the opportunity to lead various PeopleSoft projects to include the upgrade of CS & HR from V7 to V8 web client in 2004, the upgrade of the Financial System from V7 to V8 in 2005, the upgrade of PeopleTools supported with VM architecture in 2006 and the V8 to V9 HR & CS upgrade in 2008. I currently manage the District’s application support department for the Campus Solutions, HR & Financials PeopleSoft systems.
I am a member of the District’s Academic Advisement Leadership Committee which provided oversight and guidance for the recent deployment of the Academic Advisement module. I am also a member of the District’s Information Security Committee which advises and coordinates district security policies, procedures and practices.
I have also worked as an adjunct faculty at the community college level. I received my undergraduate degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and my MBA from the Anderson Management School at UCLA.
I have attended and presented at various HEUG conferences since 2002. At my first HEUG conference I was very impressed by the camaraderie and sharing exhibited by its members. I feel we are lucky to have this resource and it makes member institutions and Oracle better organizations by our participation.
Two year institutions have a unique and important role in higher education. I am very excited about the opportunity to serve & represent 2 year institutions on the HEUG Board by listening to concerns and voicing our interests.
