Mary de Laosa
Mary is Associate Vice Provost at Miami Dade College (MDC) providing leadership, direction and management of the Human Resources Division on related policies and procedures to ensure college-wide effectiveness and regulatory compliance. During her 18 years at MDC, her primary focus continues to be on process improvement and streamlining of processes to enhance delivery of services. Examples of her commitment are serving as the ERP project lead for the Recruiting and Core Modules; oversight of the digitization project of employee records, creation of employee videos and development and implementation of a service excellence program for district divisions.
Before joining MDC, Mary served as Director of Human Resources at the City of Miami/Miami Parking Authority where she was responsible for all functions of the agency’s Human Resources department and as Interim Operations Director for the Gusman Theater. Previously, she worked at Goodwill Industries as Director of Human Resources overseeing multi sites under federal contracts; and at Ernst & Young as a Staffing Coordinator responsible for scheduling and communicating client engagements for audit and tax division; as well as, maintaining and tracking professional development profiles.
She has an MBA from Nova Southeastern University; BBA from Florida International University; and an AA from Miami Dade College. Mary is a graduate of Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Leadership/Miami Class XX and is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and Greater Miami SHRM since 1990.
Mary is a native Miamian happily married to Robert and has two daughters Mary and Vanessa. She loves traveling with her family and painting modern/abstract art.
