University of Calgary - Bachelor of Commerce, Management Information Systems graduate in 1991.
Began my career as a Business Analyst, bridging the gaps between business users and both computer programmers and systems analyst to ensure applications being developed and/or modified met the business’ needs and were user friendly. In the late 1990's I trained in PeopleSoft’s Financial Accounting software, specifically Billing, Accounts Receivable, and Contracts. Later, as a PeopleSoft Canada employee, I became a PeopleSoft Certified Financial Management Consultant.
Over the years I worked on several system implementations/upgrades, from DOS-based mainframe systems to PeopleSoft’s desktop applications through to PeopleSoft’s web-based applications for large corporations and two upgrades for Government of Alberta. I’ve tested various applications such as Contracts and Time Entry, as well as system processes, such as Bill-to-Pay, and Order-to-Receive. I’ve also developed and delivered training materials for many modules including Procurement and AP Vendor processing, as well as procedural documentation and processes.
During my 20+ years in the Information Technology field, I have obtained a great deal of experience working in various industries and with medium and large corporations in Canada, the United States and Europe.
My career at MacEwan University began as a Student Financials Functional Analyst. I was responsible for documenting both the current configuration and business processes for this portion of the Campus Solutions implementation. Using best practices, I recommended improvements to existing processes and identified configuration changes to gain system improvements.
In May 2016 I became a HRIS Functional Analyst. I m mostly involved in projects such as Template-based Hire and Contract Pay for Sessionals, user acceptance testing for PeopleTools v8.55 upgrade, and automated wage progression for unionized employees to name a few. I will also be on the HCM v9.2 upgrade beginning in 2018.
