My name is Derek Konieczny and I reside in Georgetown, Ontario, Canada. For the past 5 years I have worked as a Business Systems Analyst at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. My work experience includes 13 years as a Business Analyst/Business Systems Analyst within the Financial Services and Post Secondary Education sectors.
My experience within PeopleSoft includes supporting the Travel & Expense, Grants, Project Costing, and Accounts Payable modules. At McMaster University I am the lead Business Analyst on Travel & Expense and currently focusing on the implementation of T&E Fluid. I have support several upgrades including our move to 9.2.21 on the four modules previously noted. Projects of personal highlight including delivering a tax filing tool specific to Canadian requirements, and numerous reporting enhancements including nVision.
My attendance at HEUG conferences includes Seattle in 2016 and was a presenter that the Canadian HEUG conference in 2017 in Waterloo, ON. Working within a Canadian institution provides me with a unique insight into some of the opportunities Oracle has in the Canadian marketplace.
I have submitted several enhancement requests via the Oracle Support Community which have received widespread approval from other Oracle stakeholders. Oracle has delivered on one of my suggestions involving Project Costing.
Received the Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) designation in 2014.
I am a graduate of the University of Toronto with a Honours Bachelor of Arts degree.
Outside of the office I enjoy spending time with my wife and son hiking, fishing and exploring the great outdoors. I am the Vice-Chair of the Halton-Peel Woodlands & Wildlife Stewardship, a non-profit corporation supporting local community environmental projects including tree planting, public education, stream rehabilitation and habitat enhancement for species at risk.
