Erwin was born in the Netherlands, where he attended Twente University, achieving a Masters of Science degree in Educational Science and Technology. He has been living in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada since 1997, and has been attached to MacEwan University since 1998. His activities at the university regularly cross between the technical and functional, and often involve innovation and integration projects, both for learning systems as for administrative systems.
