A Step-by-Step Overview on: How to Conduct A Lean Kaizen / RIE in Higher Education

LIVE WEBINAR

OCTOBER 13, 2021

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM ET

In a recent webinar, we discussed how Lean tools and techniques can help you streamline your institution's business and academic processes. Armed with this knowledge, you've identified an opportunity for improvement at your institution and are now ready to use Lean philosophies to conduct a Kaizen or RIE (Rapid Improvement Event). According to Dr. William K. Balzer in his Lean Higher Education book, an RIE is "a powerful LHE (Lean Higher Education) approach to eliminate waste and improve the flow of university process, providing greater value to the beneficiary of the process, increased efficiency and effectiveness for the university, and an improved experience for the university employees who participate in the process."

During this webinar, we will provide a step-by-step introduction of:
1) What is essential to prepare for before the event
2) How to conduct the event
3) The critical follow-up activities that need to be performed after your event.

This presentation can serve as your blueprint for performing a Kaizen / RIE Event while also introducing Lean tools and techniques at your institution. Following a Lean philosophy of understanding what your customers value most and striving towards continuous improvement, you can optimize those critical business and academic processes that run your institution.
