Confusion around Premiere and Extended support dates of PeopleSoft HCM/CS 8.9

I saw this post on one of the HEUG FA listservs and after verifying with the Oracle team, wanted to post it to a wider audience to try and clear up some of the mystery. According to Oracle's Lifetime Support Policy, regulatory and tax update support for PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM/CS 8.9 ends in December 2010. However, in May, 2009 Oracle announced that it was waiving the fees for extended support for PeopleSoft Enterprise 8.9 through June 2011. Customers who want extended support for PeopleSoft HCM/CS 8.9 will have to pay a fee starting in July 2011 with extended support ending in December 2012. What does this mean to you? It means if you haven't begun planning for your upgrade to CS/HCM 9.0 or CS 9.0 and HCM 9.1 you need to start planning very soon. Spread the word!

What about tax support?

This doesn't specifically say when regulatory and tax releases will end.  Will their be Reg  and tax releases for 2011 and 2012 for Campus Solutions 8.9?

Hi Andy,

Tax, legal, and regulatory updates will be delivered via extended support through December 2012. After that the product goes to sustaining support which does not include any of these. To sum it up, from July 2011 through December of 2012 you can pay for extended support and still receive tax, legal, and regulatory updates.
