Another Successful SR PAG Summit

Well, another PAG Summit and Alliance have come and gone.  Every year, your representatives on the Student Records Product Advisory Group (SR PAG) meet for two full days prior to the Alliance conference, and this year was no different.  What was different this year, though, was the content of our conversations.

This year, Oracle made a major announcement at our Summit and Alliance conference Oracle is making new, significant investments in Higher Ed solutions that will complement the ongoing investment in functionality to support global Higher Ed operating models in our industry-leading SIS, HCM and ERP applications (we encourage you to read all the details in My Oracle Support Doc ID 1630033.1 and see the HEUG blog post regarding this announcement: http://www.heug.org/p/bl/ar/blogaid=1731).

The other major take-away from the Summit was one of increased community engagement.  As your PAG, we are renewing our commitment to our mission of education and advocacy, particularly through improved communication.  We intend to solicit your feedback more often to fully understand what your major concerns, questions and priorities are so that we may better advocate for you to Oracle in product strategy.  We will also help to connect institutions seeking help with institutions that have the needed experience and knowledge.  Finally, we will work hard to push more knowledge and assistance out to the SR Community whenever we can, be it through listservs, blogs or webinars.  Look for us to publish our finalized PAG goals shortly so that you may help to hold us accountable.

How can you help?  Historically, survey responses, blog comments and listserv responses to the PAG questions tend to be low.  In order for us to achieve our goal of better representing you, we need your help to understand how best to do that.  So we ask that you take a moment to fill out our surveys or polls whenever they arise, and we will make sure that we craft them in a way to not take up too much of your time.  We will also commit to publishing the results of these inquiries as well as what we plan to do with information.

Thank you for your contributions and support, and we look forward to a great year!
