Article:
Unless you’ve been happily living a media-free existence in your attic since early 2016, the chances are you’ll have heard of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which is about to come into effect (25 May 2018). Some of us may even have been watching it coming towards us this whole time, like a slow moving and fairly confusing train. By now, the chances are that somewhere, not far from you, sits a nervy legal department and a twitchy privacy team. You might be wondering what it’s all about, so to help cut a critical path through the frenzy, the Campus Community Advisory Group has put together this blog, to help inform you of what it all means, provide some suggestions that might work for your institution, and point you in the direction of some key resources. The whole community is having to prepare for this, and everyone is learning, so put your questions onto the CC list-serv and let’s keep the conversation going!
