Vice President Jeremy Ashley (from left), Executive Vice President, Applications Development, Steve Miranda, and User Experience Director Jake Kuramoto tour the new Oracle Applications Cloud lab at Oracle's headquarters in Redwood Shores, Calif.

The AppsLab guys hit some high notes – and blogged about them – during OpenWorld, too. Executive Vice President, Applications Development, Steve Miranda showcased what the AppsLab guys are all about in a short video during his keynote presentation at OpenWorld. Director, User Experience, Jake Kuramoto links to the video in “Did You See Our Work in Steve Miranda’s Keynote?” At the OAUX Exchange on the Monday of OpenWorld, such VIPs as industry analysts (including Jeremy Cox of Ovum, above) each received a wearable device to help guide them through the demos. Read more about it in “Our Very Own Wearable.” The AppsLab guys also built a Muse Sphero Driver for a mind control demo during OpenWorld. Read more about it, see the video, and be jealous if you missed it in the “Mind Control?” post.

For a look at the topics on which industry analysts from Constellation Research reported, see this perspective video: “Constellation Research Takeaways of Oracle OpenWorld.” There's a mention of the Oracle Applications User Experience (OAUX) Exchange, where we showed forward-looking demos on the Oracle user experience. OAUX Speakers Floyd Teter and Debra Lilley and friend of Applications UX Lucas Jellema also wrote about what they saw at Oracle OpenWorld 2014, with particular comments about the Oracle user experience.

Catch up with our team: The Oracle Applications User Experience team will be in London next. Register now for one of our executive briefings for select partners and customers. Read more about it on the Voice of User Experience, or VoX, blog.

On Oracle Voice: Check out this Oracle press release from October that mentions the recently released Oracle Voice for Oracle Sales Cloud.

Simplified UI Rapid Development Kit: Head to the Usable Apps blog to learn how building stylish, modern, simplified UIs just got a whole lot easier.

New on YouTube: Four new videos have been added to the “For Developers” playlist on the Usable Apps YouTube channel. They’ll teach developers how to build the Oracle Applications Cloud simplified UI, provide an overview of the ADF components needed, offer 11 coding best-practices for simplified UI, and include a developer’s toolkit review.

Emerging technologies: This is one of our favorite topics on the OAUX team. You can read “Fashionable Tech” on the Usable Apps blog or check out the “Wearables Should be Stylish”  post from Jake Kuramoto of the AppsLab. Noel Portugal, also of the AppsLab, tackles the differences in technology in another post, “iBeacons or The Physical Web?
