User experience and the competitive edge

Behind the Oracle user experience goals of designing for simplicity, mobility, and extensibility, there lies a core design philosophy guiding the Oracle Applications User Experience (OAUX) team’s work in emerging technologies: “Glance, Scan, Commit.” That great team has conducted a mountain of research and helped developed a design experience that shapes the concepts you see in the Oracle Applications Cloud, and Jake Kuramoto discusses this further in a new post on the Voice of User Experience (VoX) blog. Speaking of our pal Jake, check out this article on him and his team in the August edition of Profit. It explores the pioneering and risk-taking approach necessary to address truly groundbreaking technologies, such as the smartwatch.

Next, catch up with Group Vice President Jeremy Ashley, who leads the Oracle Applications User Experience team, to see how mobile devices and emerging technology are influencing the Oracle user experience on Oracle Voice, an Oracle blog on the Forbes.com platform. Think you’re one among billions who is shackled to your phone? You might be, but Jeremy says that mobile devices also free you and allow you to be more human in "Why Oracle Had To Rethink UX For Cloud And Mobile."

And maybe the Internet of Things, or IoT, strikes you as something just for technology geeks and the movies. Jeremy’s next post points out that IoT is already here, it has been for longer than you think, and a better user experience on any device is yours for the taking.
