The bell tolls eight…I am the PAG member of things yet to come. To those of you that continuously feed your energy into the HEUG spirit, I bid you good tidings and warm wishes. Your energy sustains all that is good about the HEUG.
But, to those of you that have not been active I pray you heed this warning...become involved before it is too late. I implore you to seek out the 2010 Alliance Conference. It is at this gathering that all good best practices are shared and observed by all... do not make the mistakes from your past or present, and attempt Communication Generation alone. Do not assume that application processes are all the same and take the wrong path of configuration misunderstanding. Do not attempt search match processing single-handedly like a miserly know-it-all Scrooge. Come to Alliance and share in the warmth and company of new and old friends alike.
"Are you the third PAG Member spirit whose coming has been foretold," asked Ebenezer Heugmember? "Are you the PAG Member of things yet to come?"
The PAG member of things yet to come pointed to an open door in the San Antonio Convention Center...
"Before I draw nearer to that Alliance Admissions Presentation to which you point," said Ebenezer, "answer me one question. Are these the shadows of the things that Will be, or are they shadows of things that May be, only?"
Still the PAG member of things yet to come pointed to the door of the session...
"Campus Solutions member's courses will foreshadow certain ends, to which, if persevered in, they must lead," said Ebenezer. "But if the courses be departed from, the ends will change. Say it is thus with what you show me!"
And in an epiphany in which he understands the changes that the visits of the three PAG members have wrought in him, Scrooge exclaims:
"I am not the person I was. I will not be the person I must have been but for this intercourse. Why show me this, if I am past all hope!...I will honour the HEUG and Alliance Conferences in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach. Oh, tell me I may still register for Alliance in San Antonio 2010!"
Don't be a Scrooge. Come to Alliance if you can. As your current Admissions Assistant Track Chair (and next year’s Admissions Track Chair) seek me out along with the rest of the Admissions PAG members and tell us how we can serve you and your institution's needs.
