It has been recognized that a key function of the PAGs is to provide Oracle with strategic direction
The Student Records PAG is attempting to do this by identifying concerns of HEUG members and prioritizing them. This information is collated from a variety of sources including
the experience of PAG members who represent a broad cross section of HEUG institutions,
items raised on the Issue Tracker and Listserv
issues raised at Birds of a Feather and other Alliance Conference sessions.
Over the next few days I will be posting details of what have been identified as strategic issues.
They have been grouped into 3 categories

The PAG needs your comments and suggestions with regard to these items. In addition we are particularly looking for issues beyond the current 3 year horizon. We need to attempt to identify ways in which the business of Higher Education will develop and to define the system requirements to support these changing needs. The more we can do this the better chance we have of getting development done in time to meet the needs. In short we need to be proactive rather than reactive.
The PAG consists of a handful of members, we need you, the HEUG community of thousands to point the way. Without your input we may end up, as in the past adding a field here or there, tightening up on a bit of validation etc, all useful stuff but it will not give Campus Solutions user institutions the competitive edge they will need to survive in a tough economic climate..
