In Direct Lending, the loan validation process works differently that for FFELP. Previously, for our FFELP loans, we were able to look at the Equations that drove the validation process. We were also able to create some school specific validation edits. This proved both easy to understand, and pretty handy for our loan processing.
DL is different. In the DL world, loan validation is hard-coded into the Loan Outbound process. We wanted/needed to see what these edits are, but it is difficult to look through the COBOL for this sort of information. This is where My Oracle Support helped us out. There is a help document that contained the information we needed.
