    Sorry if you get this twice, I picked the wrong list first time !!

    I am hoping you can spare a couple of minutes to answer a few questions. We are planning our Campus Solutions 9.2 Upgrade and as part of this are looking at what we are going to do to replace our current Self Service - which is an asp application, based on the original application developed by ANU (way back when).

    Campus Solutions 9.2 Upgrade

    * Have you completed / or are in flight with your 9.2 upgrade?

    * If so, how have you approached this - phased, big bang?

    * Did you retire many customisations due to new/delivered functionality in 9.2?

    * Are you embracing fluid?

    Campus Solutions 9.2 Upgrade

    * Have you completed / or are in flight with your 9.2 upgrade?
    Currently in progress, targeted go-live is mid-July.

    * If so, how have you approached this - phased, big bang?
    We are doing this as a pure technical upgrade, and not implementing any new features as part of this upgrade.

    * Did you retire many customisations due to new/delivered functionality in 9.2?
    No, we only retired any bolt-on functionality we had replaced over the years since our last upgrade, and a few minor ones that were no longer used.

    * Are you embracing fluid?
    We already have a staff and student portal built in Fluid for our Research staff and students. However we are not planning on implementing any additional Fluid components as part of our upgrade. We will look to implement Fluid homepages etc as an ongoing process after our upgrade go-live.

    Mobile

    * Are you using the delivered Campus Solutions mobile functionality?
    No

    * If so, how /what are you using?

    * If not, what are you using?
    We have a custom-built UniSA mobile app

    Delivered Graduations and Research functionality

    * Have you adopted or are you considering adopting this delivered functionality?

    We are using the delivered Research functionality, but our own custom-built Graduations module.



    * If so, was this a significant project and roughly how long did it take?

    We implemented the Research Administration functionality via a 12 month project that went live January 2016 (with the associated Fluid portals mentioned above).

    Delivered Self Service

    * Do you use delivered Self Service?
    No

    * Did you move to delivered from a custom built Self Service?
    -

    * How heavily is it customised?
    -

    * Are you using delivered fluid?
    No

    Custom built Self Service

    * Do you have a custom built Self Service?
    Yes

    * Could you provide a bit of information about it?
    Our self-service for students and staff is built on Microsoft.NET and interfaces with Campus Solutions via web services. Our custom-built mobile app likewise interfaces via web services.

    I'm pushing for a phased approach.

    This will be part of the initial investigation.

    I hope so.

    No

    * If so, how /what are you using?

    No mobile option for CS at present.

    Delivered Graduations and Research functionality

    * Have you adopted or are you considering adopting this delivered functionality?
    We will definitely be looking at retiring the ANZ Research mod and our own Grads module. We know it can't be like for like due to a functionality shortfall with delivered.

    * If so, was this a significant project and roughly how long did it take?

    Delivered Self Service

    * Do you use delivered Self Service?
    No, we've been customised from Day 1.

    * Did you move to delivered from a custom built Self Service?
    We will reassess delivered Self Service as part of the upgrade planning. Our other option will be to continue with our customised Self Service, but heavily 'refresh' it, eg using Fluid.

    * How heavily is it customised?

    * Are you using delivered fluid?

    Custom built Self Service

    * Do you have a custom built Self Service?
    Yes.

    * Could you provide a bit of information about it?
    Probably simplest to have a teleconference and/or demo, if you're interested.

    We are looking at a technical upgrade only, but are conscious of the fact that we may need to make decisions around navigation etc which may generate some fluid work

    We do not expect to retire customisations... only if patches have replaced functionality etc

    * Are you embracing fluid?
    We intend to embrace fluid but will look at this separately post upgrade.

    No.

    We are currently not using any mobile friendly functionality for campus

    Delivered Graduations and Research functionality

    We are using delivered graduations functionality with some customisation (minor)
    We are hoping at some stage to adopt the research functionality, but are currently using research master

    We did not have a graduations solution, so undertook this implementation as an operational action over the course of several months

    yes

    no

    We have made our own enrolment pages as part of our course level and class selection enrolment. We have moved away from the shopping cart. There are a number of additional functions and pages we have added but the rest of the delivered pages etc have only minor customisations, some purely cosmetic

    no
