The Alliance Downunder conference is on in June and an important part of the event is to recognise the outstanding contributions of members through the ANZ HEUG Hall of Fame. Two awards, the Exceptional Service Award and the Fay Gibbons Memorial Award, have been established to express the Organisation's appreciation for the efforts of its volunteers. These members selflessly work to strengthen the ANZ HEUG as a user group for the benefit of all members.

    Nomination Statements

The nomination statement for either award can be completed by an individual or group on the attached form. The nomination should include a statement on the nominator's involvement with the nominee and address how the nominee meets and excels in the criteria below. In addition, the nomination can include supporting statements from other supporters.

    Exceptional Service Award

This award is to celebrate outstanding contributions to the ANZ HEUG by an individual. It is to recognise those members that have demonstrated leadership and have had substantial impact on the ANZ HEUG, its activities, and its membership over a sustained period of time. Nominators should address the following criteria in their nomination statement:

    * Demonstrated leadership in important initiatives that advance the ANZ HEUG
    * Outstanding service to ANZ HEUG Membership
    * Respected as a professional by those in the higher education industry
    * Sustained contribution to the ANZ HEUG

    Fay Gibbons Memorial Award

The Fay Gibbons Memorial Award was established in 2015 in recognition of one of the ANZ HEUG's founding members, Fay Gibbons, The Australian National University. Fay was a tireless supporter and advocate for the ANZ SIG, and subsequently the ANZ HEUG, appreciating that our engagement and collaboration as a community, benefited the sector as a whole, and strengthened our voice with the Global HEUG and Oracle. Fay was also notoriously reluctant to receive any recognition herself, preferring to be a contributor behind the scenes.

This award is to celebrate similar 'quiet achievers' who have been reliable, valued contributors to the ANZ HEUG community and uphold the values of sharing experiences for the benefit of others by being:

    * A regular contributor at ANZ HEUG conferences and other activities
    * A consistent representative of their institution
    * Active responders on the listserv
    * And willing to share their experience and expertise with other institutions

Nominations will be considered by the ANZ HEUG Executive Committee and awards presented at the Alliance Down Under conference.

Nominations close on Friday 7 June 2019.
