Perhaps this should be a different thread but, out of curiosity, does anyone know, from a performative (speed/processing) standpoint, is it better to test a similar condition in multiple WHEN vs nest CASE statements? i.e.
CASE
WHEN FIELD1 = 1 AND FIELD2 = 1 THEN 1
WHEN FIELD 1 = 1 AND FIELD2 = 2 THEN 2
END
vs
CASE
WHEN FIELD1 = 1 THEN
CASE
WHEN FIELD 2 = 1 THEN 1
WHEN FIELD 2 = 2 THEN 2
END
END

Thanks Daniel for your response. Making them a Local Variable from a Global Variable totally worked. Then making the SQL use the variables like I would for Emplid and Aid_Year. Below are a couple of screenshots, in case like me, somebody needs some help with this.

Hello Daniel,
Your called SQL would have :prompt variables in them. You would then take the global variables you have and convert them to local variables:
ASSIGN Local Variable <name of local>
Global Variable <name of global>
END ASSIGN
Then the local variables can be used as parameters kind of like what you equation is doing now.

Subject: Can Callable SQL call Global Variables in Equations
Hi All,
I am writing an equation which uses callable SQLs to assign different global variables, like Dependency, Marital Status...
I was wondering if I could leverage those assigned global variables in another callable SQL that would use a CASE statement? If so, how do you write the SQL to reference the global variables?

Thanks,
