Alliance 2013 - a glance in the rear-view mirror

Alliance 2013 has just concluded, and Indy delivered!  The conference planners had told us it would be a good site, and it was.  The convention center/hotels were designed around attendee convenience, the food was great (and who ever says that about conference food, seriously?), the information from the sessions, keynote and roadmap was valuable, and the the interactions with vendors were productive.  And finally, I don't know how we'll top that Tuesday night event.  It was personally fun for me to meet so many of you.

That is especially true of the PAG/TAG Summit, held every year on the two days preceeding the Alliance Conference.  Volunteer members in 15 different functional product areas and the technical advisory group met with Oracle strategists to discuss both short-term tactical issues and longer-term strategic issues.  Hopefully you were able to attend one of their Community or Birds-of-a-Feather sessions to hear more about how they represented the issues you have brought to their attention.  Of special interest was a meeting about Oracle's mobile strategy(ies).

During the conference itself, there were over 500 sessions from which to choose.  The PAGs and TAG gathered and chose most of the sessions, and the vast majority of those were presented by HEUG members.  Maybe next year, you'll propose a session and get to present.

Advocacy and education:  the HEUG tradition continues.  See you in Las Vegas in 2014, if not before then at a regional conference near you.
