Advisory Groups' preparations for Alliance

With just over 2 weeks to go until Alliance ’16 in the stunning city of Seattle, our Advisory Groups are busy finalising their plans.

As Vice-President for Product I have the privilege of witnessing the hard work that goes into their preparations for both the Advisory Group Summit and the conference itself.  This group of volunteers have an amazing mix of skills – specialist product knowledge, a passion for investigating and solving problems, the ability to collate and distil information from multiple sources and convey this to relevant parties (be that HEUG members or Oracle) – all of which really comes to the fore at the annual Summit.  But at this time of year I also get to witness their creativity…

The Advisory Groups put a lot of effort into welcoming their individual communities – you, our HEUG members – to the conference.  Learning about the host city and finding fun ways to incorporate elements of this into their presentations at the Community Mingles.  Reviewing their tracks and highlighting 'top picks' to help you navigate the conference.  But more than anything, the Advisory Groups recognise the importance of the conference for networking – the best opportunity to meet your peers, ask questions, get answers, swap ideas, etc – and so they come up with fun and fabulous ways to facilitate this.  These Community Mingle sessions are not to be missed!

I see the work that members put in to their volunteer roles all year round, but never more so than at this time of year.  So, if you are a first-time attendee, or an experienced Alliance delegate I would strongly encourage you to attend a Community Mingle session – 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm on Sunday 6th March - meet your peers, meet your Advisory Group members and get your conference off to a flying start!
