The annual Oracle Open World gathering was held in San Francisco last week. It was... interesting. Just me, some other HEUG Board members and 50,000 of co-founder and CEO Larry Ellison's closest friends. I work in North Dakota, and the general session audience would be our 4th largest city!
As usual, Oracle saved some breaking news for OOW.
The first: Extended Support for PeopleSoft Release 9.0 has been pushed to June, 2015. See
http://www.oracle.com/us/support/library/lifetime-support-applications-069216.pdf
Second: Oracle is waiving the the Extended Support uplift fees on PeopleSoft Releases 9.0 and 9.1. That documentation can be found at http://www.oracle.com/us/support/library/057419.pdf
If you ever get a chance to go to OOW, do it. Oracle was a great host, and the learning opportunities were endless.
