Upcoming Regional Conferences

As many of our institutions are wrapping up the spring semester, and preparing for the summer months, what better way to prepare for the upcoming fall semester challenges and opportunities than with some of your peers and friends at a HEUG Regional Conference.

The Mid-Atlantic HEUG includes Maryland, Delaware, DC, Virginia and Pennsylvania is a HEUG-facilitated online community. It is used to interact with other higher education institutions in the region who use Oracle applications/technology. The Mid-Atlantic HEUG community also has an annual conference where interested parties meet - usually at one of the participating institutions - for presentations, workshops, and networking opportunities. The date for this event is June 6th, and will be hosted at Coppin State University; Baltimore, Maryland.

The South Central HEUG Regional User Group (SCHRUG) offers opportunities for members for networking, knowledge sharing, and increased communication within the growing community of higher education institutions in the region, using or implementing Oracle systems. Any institution using or implementing Oracle systems in IHE (institutions of higher education) in the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Mississippi and Texas are eligible to participate in this regional user group. The date for this event is July 23rd, and will be hosted at UT Arlington; Arlington, Texas.

I am making an appearance at the SCHRUG conference, and I look forward to meeting new peers and friends, and catching up with old ones as well.

Board Activity

I would also like to introduce our new HEUG Board of Directors Vice Presidents for 2014-2015.

  • Mario Berry – Executive Vice President of Administration
  • Stan Jakubik – Past President
  • Jane Broad – Vice President of Product
  • Maureen Knight-Burell – Vice President of Communications & Membership
  • Teri Thorsen – Vice President of Community Development
  • Tina Thorstenson – Vice President of Technology
  • Dan Youngblood – Vice President of Finance/Treasurer
  • Todd Langille - Secretary
  • Jerry Waldron – Leading Executive Advisory Group
  • Debby Hill – Alliance Conference Chair

Please join me in welcoming them for this upcoming year. They are all looking forward to representing all the members of the HEUG in the coming months, and I am confident they will all do great jobs in their new roles as we help tell our story to Oracle.
