Hurricane Sandy

Dear HEUG Community,

As the HEUG continues to grow each year we each find ourselves a part of a wonderful global community. As we work together on conferences, boards, advisory groups, and online communities of practice we establish lasting friendships with colleagues from all over the world. One effect of this is that frequently we read the news from some place far from our homes and realize that we have friends in trouble. So it is now as we see the news of the terrible flooding in the northeastern United States as a result of Hurricane Sandy. For those HEUG members affected by the storm, please know that the entire HEUG community is here to support you. For those not affected, please take a moment to reach out to those who have been.

As the flood water recedes and the news fades from the front pages, please remember that many of those most affected by this storm will continue to need our help for months to come. If you are inclined to help, please visit the American Red Cross site at www.redcross.org to find out how.

Thank you.
