Session Submission Now Open!
The Southeast Regional User Group (SEARUG) will hold its annual conference on Monday, October 20 through Tuesday, October 21, 2014. The location for this year’s conference will be the Chapel Hill Sheraton, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. HEUG members from our region are invited to attend, but we welcome participants from all regions of the country. We are planning a great conference with presentations, exhibits and plenty of time reserved for networking. The conference is a two-day event, midday to midday, which should provide adequate time for those traveling greater distances.
Critical to the success of our conference will be sessions presented by our colleagues – showcasing their work and experiences, highlighting new tools and new approaches and discussing best practices. This conference will address three separate PeopleSoft ERP systems; Human Resources, Financials and Campus Solutions. Additionally, third party systems used to expand and supplement PeopleSoft functionality will be covered.
The Southeast Regional User’s Group is issuing a Call for Proposals for this upcoming conference. If you have an area of expertise, if you can speak to an innovative use of Oracle technology, or if you were part of a successful initiative at your institution, let us know. Submit a presentation proposal for our conference. This is a chance to introduce a new topic, or revisit a topic discussed at another venue. Whatever the case, submit a proposal – we want to hear from you today.
Session proposal guidelines/suggestions:
- Sessions can be presented by an individual or a team.
- Presentations can be institutional staff alone or done in conjunction with a vendor who has made an impact on your project.
- Vendors who are sponsors are welcome to propose sessions but their proposals must not be sales oriented. It is preferred that vendors partner with an institution which uses their services.
- Sessions are 50 minutes long. You should plan to allow time for questions at the end.
- Longer sessions (up to 2 hours) are possible for topics that require more in-depth coverage. These sessions will be presented on Monday morning.
- We usually have more proposals than session slots. We will be determining which proposals have wide appeal as submissions are evaluated.
If presenting at a conference is new to you, this is a great opportunity to present in a less intimidating environment than at the national Alliance conference. If you are an old hand at presentations, you know how rewarding it can be. If you are interested in co-presenting, or being part of a panel discussion, please let us know your topic of interest and we will try to match you with someone from another institution who would like to discuss the same subject. These sessions are particularly helpful as they provide different perspectives on similar issues.
