Call For Proposals Now Open!

The Southeast Regional User Group (SEARUG) will present its annual conference on Thursday and Friday, October 25 and 26, 2012.  The location for this year’s gathering will be the Fuqua School of Business, on the campus of Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.  HEUG members from the region are invited to attend, and all other HEUG members are welcome to come, as well. We are planning a full day of sessions, broken into Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.  We will also be hosting an evening reception to provide a time to mix with colleagues in a fun and casual setting.  Back by popular demand, we will be including several “Birds of a Feather” sessions, providing a time to discuss module specific challenges and issues. Finally, we plan to have exhibits from eighteen sponsors and vendors, giving you a chance to meet and discuss any upcoming needs for your institution.

In order to best serve our attendees, please take a moment to fill out a short survey that will help the 2012 SEARUG Planning Committee create an effective conference agenda. To fill out this 5 minute survey click here

Critical to the success of our conference will be the sessions presented by your colleagues showcasing their work and experiences, new tools they are using and new approaches to the issues they face.  This conference will focus on PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, as well as the technologies that institutions employ to support this functionality.

The Southeast Regional User’s Group is issuing a Call for Proposals for this upcoming conference.  If you have an area of expertise, if you can speak to an innovative use of Oracle technology, or if were part of a successful initiative at your institution, let us know.  Submit a presentation proposal for the conference in October.  This is a chance to introduce a new topic, or perhaps revisit a topic discussed at another venue.  Whatever the case, submit a proposal – we want to hear from you today.

Session proposal guidelines/suggestions:
•    Sessions can be done by an individual presenter or a team.
•    They can be from institutional staff alone or done in conjunction with a vendor who has made an impact on your project.
•    Sessions are 45 minutes long and you should plan to allow some time for questions.
•    Vendors are welcome to propose sessions but their proposals must not be sales oriented.  It is preferred that vendors present with an institution which uses their services.
•    We usually have more proposals than session slots.  We will be determining which proposals have wide interest and appeal as the submissions are evaluated.
•    If presenting at a conference is new to you, this is a great opportunity to present in a less intimidating environment than at the large Alliance conference.  If you are an old hand at presentations, you know how rewarding it can be, so come do it again!
•    If you are interested in co-presenting, or as part of a panel discussion, please let us know your topic of interest and we will try to match you with someone from another institution who would like to discuss the same subject.  These sessions are particularly helpful as they provide different perspectives on similar issues.

Click on the session proposal form link to complete the information summarizing your presentation.  All we need for now is a summary—PowerPoints will be requested later.

Please direct any questions Tom Johnson, at tom.johnson@duke.edu. We will accept proposals for the program until June 21, 2012.
