I am very pleased to announce the HEUG Board of Directors elected Mario Berry (Lone Star College System) to serve as President for the March 2015 - March 2016 term. I will hand the gavel to Mario at the close of the annual HEUG business meeting on March 18 while at the Alliance Conference in Nashville.
Mario takes over the helm with a breadth of leadership experience in higher education as well as significant HEUG experience on the board of directors. Mario has more than 15 years of information technology experience, 11 in Higher Education. Currently, he is the Associate Vice Chancellor - Enterprise Applications for Lone Star College Systems. He has a background in organizational development, project management, process improvement, quality assurance, system's design and network administration; and has delivered numerous presentations and hosted many discussions on Leadership, Negotiation, Governance and Strategic Alignment of technology within Higher Education.
Mario has been a solid contributor on the HEUG board over the last 3 years including serving as Executive Vice President of Administration this past year. His other contributions to the HEUG included:
