RSS Feeds on HEUG Online

By Archive User posted 02-23-2009 03:17 PM

As we saw last week, blogs have been rolled out on HEUG.Online. A number have already begun to publish. This is a great way to communicate and collaborate. You will see that all blogs and many forums support RSS feeds. Syndication is a great way to read web content, particularly if you read a lot of it. If you want a good primer on RSS feeds, what they are, what they do, and how to use them, check out this excellent description by Feed Burner.

On HEUG.Online, you will see a feed icon on each blog page.It looks like this:

feed

Go ahead and click it and start getting rich HEUG content fed right to your feed reader. If you want to see more on RSS, check out this short video by Common Craft.

Can't get RSS Feed to work

When I try to use the RSS Feed and you ask me to sign into Yahoo, my userid or password is not accepted. I noticed that when you redisplay my userid back to me it is in lower case. My userid has mixed case.

Also, when I clicked 'Contact' at the very bottom of the web page, it wants me to install outlook!!! The University of Minnesota uses Thunderbird.

If you want to respond to me, email me at espen007@umn.edu

I would love to get the RSS Feed working.
