    Greetings everyone

    The mini-HEUG conference is just over 5 weeks from now so it is time to register. The draft program has been added to the conference website, which can be accessed at the following link: conference page https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/2018-mini-heug-the-future-is-fluid-hosted-at-usc-and-the-mooloolaba-slsc-tickets-41032833309 The confirmed program will be sent out about a week prior to the Conference. Fees for the conference have been kept to a bare minimum at $220 (GST incl) so the best value technology conference for the sector.

    A few quick points about the conference:

    * The relaxed, networking focus of the conference is maintained, with multiple streams and breakout sessions for all delegates throughout provides a great development opportunity for staff;
    * Oracle (Gary Allen) will provide an update on the most recent software developments;
    * USC will show its current thoughts regarding the Academic Advisement module; &
    * Show and tell sessions from different sites of their Fluid pages will be presented so you can see what’s possible for your institution.

    On a logistical front

    * Accommodation has been negotiated with the Mantra Mooloolaba Beach Resort at a heavily discounted rate. This discount applies if booking are made on or before Monday 7 May, so book your accommodation now to get the cheaper rate;
    * A bus from The Mantra will take delegates to the conference at USC on Thursday and Friday mornings, and there will be a return trip on the Thursday, with the option of bus back to the accommodation or to the Sunshine Coast airport from USC when the conference finishes;
    * The conference finishes at 2.00 pm on Friday to allow delegates enough time to travel to the Sunshine Coast airport for flights to Sydney, Melbourne and other locations which typically depart around 3.30 pm;
    * The Thursday night Conference dinner (full drinks and meal package) at the Mooloolaba SLSC is included in the registration fee and all delegates attending will receive a SLSC Towel; &
    * Information on what to do on the Sunshine Coast is provided on the Conference website. So if you are from a state that has the Queen’s Birthday holiday the following Monday, why not stay for a long weekend and enjoy the majesty and beauty of the Coast.

    If anyone has any questions about the conference, feel free to email me or the USC conference team at studentevents@usc.edu.au<mailto:studentevents@usc.edu.au>

    Looking forward to seeing you in June!

    Cheers

    Tony
