Traditionally, student withdrawals have been a cumbersome and time-consuming process requiring phone calls and back-and-forth email discussions before the student is finally withdrawn over a course of several days. This of course, can be painful and inefficient for all involved. In collaboration with Student Affairs, the central Registrar's Office, and the Office of Student Finance, we built an automated process, using Approval Workflow Engine (AWE), that allows administrative users to quickly and painlessly withdraw students from the university.Between submission and final notification, the process:- discontinues the student- processes a term withdrawal- removes and/or adds necessary service indicators- runs tuition calc- final email notification(s)
