Hello! My name is Robert Norris and I'm currently a Business Systems Analyst Intermediate with the University of Michigan (U-M) and have been employed by U-M for 11 years. I currently support the Recruiting & Admissions efforts on the Ann Arbor campus from loading the application data for undergraduate and graduate online application (PeopleSoft), test score data, electronic images (Perceptive Content) while also providing tier 3 technical support and consulting with business offices on processes.
A little about my background in the Recruiting & Admissions world, I originally started at the U-M as a Document Management Team Leader at the Office of Undergraduate Admission (OUA) where I lead a team of approximately 20-25 document processors for 4+ years that processed over 1 million pieces of mail (application materials) annually. After OUA, I transferred to the Graduate Admissions Office at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business where I lead a team of 6 Admissions Assistants that worked one on one with applicants to ensure their applications were completed for the evaluation staff. We also worked with admitted applicants through the matriculation process and international application through the immigration process.
With my experience in the undergraduate and graduate admissions departments, I transferred to U-M Information & Technology Services (ITS) and have been a subject matter expert (SME) on several projects for almost 4 years. Our team of 4 Business Systems Analysts works closely with over 19 admissions offices on the U-M Ann Arbor Campus, along with other teams within ITS to ensure that our central business processes are running and most efficient for the greater university.
