HEUG EMEA 2014 - Website Open/Call for Proposals!

HEUG EMEA Conference 2014
15-16 October 2014

This is the third HEUG conference on the use of Oracle applications for European, Middle East and African countries. After two successful conferences in London we are proud to host the HEUG EMEA Conference in October this year in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

The next step forward

The challenge for ´our´ regional HEUG conference is to overcome our differences in culture, language and educational structures, find our similarities and set a common goal for our educational and administrative support systems. After years of implementing and keeping up to speed with rapidly changing requirements and technical evolution, we are now looking at the future.  What lies ahead, what are the needs of our students, our educational and administrative staff the next five or ten years? These are questions we would like to address in October. Let´s share our vision on the next step forward!

Come and join us in this opportunity to share information, experience and best practice among Higher Education institutions in the EMEA region about the selection, implementation and cost-effective use of Oracle products.

The HEUG website has been updated and now contains information you need to plan for attending the HEUG EMEA conference. Get involved and consider submitting a presentation for this year’s event.

Keep your eye on the website to keep abreast of developments and key releases of information.

If you are not a current member of the HEUG please ensure you join ASAP. You will need to be a member in order to register for the conference and for presentation submissions.

Call for Presentations

This conference has developed a reputation for the breadth and quality of presentations offered, and this year will be no different. Now is your chance to submit your proposals and ideas for sessions and to secure your place at the Conference.

We do not only want formal presentations – if you would like to lead a workshop or chair a panel discussion on a topic of interest to you then feel free to submit this as a proposal.

We would like sessions that showcase your innovative work - sharing experiences, lessons learned, future plans, new tools, new ideas and new approaches.

In order to give us chance to put together the best possible programme we need all submissions by July 25th so please start thinking of your ideas now.

Remember, you don’t need your full session completed yet, we just need your session title and an outline of the content. It’s also important that we know who will be presenting the submission as proposals will be assessed on the combination of topic and presenter – if either of these change we may not be able to proceed with the session.

Also be aware that the primary speaker for every full session proposal accepted will receive a free registration to the HEUG EMEA 2014 conference! (Mini-session presenters are eligible for a half-price registration)

We’re looking for presentations around all aspects of Campus Solutions (Admissions, Records, Financial Aid, Student Financials or Academic Advisement). We would particularly welcome sessions on Program Enrolment, Activity Management, File Parser, AAWS, Research Tracking, Milestones, Graduation Tracking, Evaluation Management, Notification Framework or any of the new functionality. Have you any experiences or ideas you wish to share about how you are planning to take your system on that next step forward?

Following on from a number of very valuable and well received technical presentations over the past two years, the technical track has now been expanded to a full track. We would welcome your ideas on sessions covering any area of PeopleSoft or E-Business tools. These can include Security, User Experience, to encompass user interface and mobile solutions, PeopleTools, in particular experiences with PeopleSoft Test Framework and PeopleSoft Update Manager. We would also welcome input on successes you have had over the last year with the new tools Oracle are making available so that you can share these with the community, examples here would be PeopleTools Pivot Grids or Related Content

If you use e-Business Suite we want to hear from you and what you're doing now that you've more than likely made that leap to 12.x. Are you looking at, or have you implemented, additional modules such as iExpenses or iSupplier? Are you looking at complementary products to your e-Business Suite implementation to lever greater process improvements? We want to know what you are doing 'The Day After Tomorrow'. You're sessions can be presentation case studies, tips and tricks that you've found or even if you'd like to help run a panel discussion on a particular topic then we'd like to know.

Do you have a session which doesn’t fall neatly into one of the above tracks? This could include reporting, training, end user support, project management, or anything of general interest. What type of usability enhancements have you made? How have you and your users experienced upgrades? We’d like to see sessions about how you have improved the user experience of the system in your institution and we would like to hear about the positives and challenges at your institution.
