Actionable Intelligence: Improving Student Success

Retention and graduation rates have long been student success indicators, which occur either at the end of a term or an academic year. By changing the culture on one campus to focus on providing faculty with indicators early in the semester or even before students step foot in class dramatically helped to increase the students’ success. Utilizing technology and predictive analytics to communicate and facilitate strategies not only increase retention and graduation, they give more students an opportunity at a better life. Join us as we review techniques and technologies to provide students a higher chance of academic and life success.

Andy T. Clark has over 17 years of experience in leadership, research, and analytics. Leadership experience at 4 universities in Institutional Research, Enrollment Management, strategic organizational design and logistics management. Worked closely with local and state legislators in developing and recommending policy and funding changes for higher education. Designed and implemented data driven recruiting models, marketing, branding campaigns, and process improvement management utilizing cutting edge technology. Participated on numerous state committees driving process improvements with Complete College Georgia, improving graduation rates in Georgia. Serves on Oracles Industry Strategy Council. Undergraduate degree in Public Administration, Master of Public Administration, Master of Logistics Management all from Georgia College & State University; and Doctor of Public Administration (ABD) Valdosta State University.

Brian Haugabrook is the Chief Information Officer at Valdosta State University.
