The HRMS PAG hopes everyone enjoyed Alliance 2010. We had a productive Summit meeting prior to the conference, and really enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting new ones. The Mix and Mingle, in its second year was a great chance to start making connections, as members sought answers to their upgrade, new functionality, or pain-point questions. HEUG members came through again, with a good variety of helpful sessions, and the HCM Idea Exchanges
produced a flurry of questions, answers, and referrals. As soon as we receive a copy of the recording of those two sessions, we'll flesh out our Power Points of the sessions and get them uploaded to HEUG online.
The PeopleSoft product, the HEUG, and HEUG members are showing signs of maturing together. This is best done when members have input into product changes. To help accomplish that, one of the PAG goals for the year is to encourage members to update their profiles. That way, when we get a request from Oracle for names of people they can invite to a work- or focus-group, we'll be able to use the profiles to make those connections.
A sign of maturity is that this year, we'll break out of our silo, and work with the Budget PAG on that Higher Ed rite of spring - the annual budget process. Ask ten HEUG member institutions how they use PeopleSoft to conduct the annual budget process, and you'll get ten different answers! We want to understand how PeopleSoft is designed to work in that zone between HCM, EPM and Financials. To that end, we are setting up a meeting with Oracle staff to see how or if their solution meets our industry's needs.
Thank you for your continued participation in the listserv. We're so lucky we're in an industry where sharing is the norm.
