Looking back, when I started out on HEUG.Online - maybe 2 years ago - I felt it was, mildly speaking, a challenge. It was evident to me that the 'system' behind it was very sophisticated. Excellent search engine. Super database on all the members. But how to find your way through this high level tool? The site seemed to be built for people that would take the time to find out how it works, use the help button, read some manuals etc. But, for myself, I just want to get in and find what I need without learning the whole application. Does this sound familiar to some of you?
Well, here we are. The new HEUG.Online is launched and I can't stop clicking on all the homepage buttons, finding the hidden corners, now, instantly. And for new members, it's no longer a 'solving maze' to find out what this community is about and to get practical information or even statistics you could use. It's all there, at your fingertips, and if you're not sure what a page is for you only have to look to the right side of the page for the "about this" box.
I personally recommend (on the homepage)
- "New member welcome" if you want to know what HEUG is and does (also very useful for not-so-new members)
- "buyers guide" for a quick reference guide of vendors
- "job listings" super cool! Please post your jobs out here folks. And I would suggest: global. The Job Listing Forum is a secure area.
So please, click away, and tell us what's missing. We will do the same and keep you posted on any interesting feature, and how to use it 'to the max'.
