I have worked in the Registrar's Office at the University of Western Ontario since 1990. I started on our legacy system and then assisted in the conversion to PeopleSoft 7 in 1998. Since then I have specialized in Student Records and Academic Advising. I was heavily involved in Western's upgrades to 7.6, 8.9, 9.0 and most recently 9.2. I moved into the Functional Analyst role in 2008 and am now closely allied with our School of Graduate and Post Doctoral Studies (SGPS). During my work with SGPS I have learned about Admissions and Financial Aid to round out my experience. I spent much of 2013 working on our implementation of AAWS to create an online application for graduate students. We have also upgraded Finance and HR to 9.2.
From 2008 to 2015 I was also studying part time and received my BA in June 2015 and am now a proud Western alumna.
HEUG activities:
I belong to several listservs and offer my help whenever I can. I was privileged to represent non-US schools on the Academic Advising Advisory Group from 2008-2014. During my time with the group I held many roles: secretary, assistant track chair, track chair, vice chair, chair, enhancement tracker, and I was also a member of several Oracle Focus Groups giving feedback on new functionality during the development phase.
I have been a member of several HEUG working groups: HEUG Upgrade Working Group, HEUG Global PAG Working Group, HEUG Reorganization Working Group, HEUG Contracts Review Workgroup, HEUG Global Regions and Community Development Workgroup, HEUG Socious Tools review group, Alliance Roles & Responsibilities Workgroup.
I was encouraged to join the Alliance Conference team in 2014 as Assistant Program Chair for the 2015 conference. It was a year of learning. The Program Chair year that followed was intense and required dedication of effort. The role of Conference Chair brought new challenges and the opportunity to learn about event planning. As Past Conference Chair my role was to help the rest of the Conference team as they navigated their way through the process of preparing for an Alliance Conference. It was a great opportunity for team work and it was very gratifying to work with a group of dedicated individuals and then see our efforts come to fruition.
As I was finishing my time on the Alliance Conference team I became a member of the CHEUG conference team and subsequently Secretary on the inaugural CHEUG Executive.
I'm always happy to share my experience so please reach out and I'll do my best to answer your question.

The HEUG has been and continues to be a wealth of knowledge and support and a means to advocate to Oracle for non-US functionality. Being part of the inaugural Canadian HEUG has been a privilege and I look forward to assisting at future conferences.
