I have been working in IT for over 20 years in both the public and private sectors undertaking a variety of roles including developer, functional analyst, enterprise architect, consultant and manager. Currently I lead the enterprise applications area at the University with responsibility for all administrative systems including Student, Research, HR, Finance, Teaching & Learning, Management Information and Document Management applications.
This depth and breadth of experience provides me with the understanding required to actively participate in the HEUG, I believe in the sharing of user experiences to help & support colleagues, and in the value of the user group as a voice for its members with application vendors.
As a current HEUG Advisory Group member, I have experience of working with product strategists, pursuing enhancement requests and preparing white papers, blogs, etc. to keep the community informed. I am also on the committees of regional Higher Education & IT user groups, discussing the development of statutory requirements, joint developments, sharing experiences and collaborating on areas of common interest.
My institution is supportive of the time and commitment required to participate in the HEUG and I would like the opportunity to contribute to the community.
