Kaiser Permanente (KP) has 8 research centers and 1 School of Medicine. KP recently went live with a Billing Automation improvement project to further automate billing processes, leverage new billing features and functionality, and reduce manual steps to ultimately improve the timing of creating invoices and receiving payments. Beyond using InterUnit Billing, Supporting Documents, Manager Transaction Review, and Billing Invoice Approval Workflow, the Billing Automation project further rolled out PeopleSoft billing features to include: new Invoice Formats with systematic signatures, systematic Emailing Invoices as Attachments, automatic Attaching of Invoices to Bill Header, capability to merge Invoice with Supporting Documents, ability to run billing using Streamline Billing, the capability to automate Billing Processes using Business Process Weaver, Invoice Mass Maintenance, ability to more easily run centralized billing separate from market billing, as well as the ability to certify expenses independent of the billing process.
