Know Your Customers: Understanding the characteristics and expectations of Generation Z

05-05-2018 03:16 AM

Generation Z are people born after 1999. They are much different than millennials or any other generation to attend a university.

Technology comes naturally to them. They are tech-savvy and grow up in high-tech, hyper-connected, on-demand, and fast-moving culture. They expect to use technology for all of their needs. A mobile-friendly website is no longer a nice-to-have it is a necessity. Four out of five students will visit your website on a mobile device. Approximately 80% rely on technology for communication, social engagement and to transact business. It is imperative for universities to understand Generation Z and integrate their requirements and expectations into the student experience and their own business processes.

Generation Z are also a global generation. Not only do they expect
to pay online but also with convenient and familiar payment options such as credit cards, WeChat Pay, Alipay China UnionPay, PayPal, Apple Pay, international payments etc…

This means universities have additional expectations they must meet. How to make it easier for Generation Z students to pay by providing local and familiar options at the same time ensuring those payments are credited to their bank accounts and posted and reconciled to existing systems such as Campus Solutions.

We have bought together an experienced panel; Joe Egan, EVP Business Development from UniLink Data Systems and Paul Goldman Director Global Banking and Markets from HSBC.

The panel will be discussing what your university can do to meet the expectations of Generation Z while simultaneously improving your customer service, reporting, reconciliation and cash flow processes. Come along, listen to our experienced panel, ask questions and learn how your university can:

• Understand how you can create an ecommerce ecosystem which is integrated to Campus Solutions to make it easier for students to make payments online for tuition, fees, events and more
• Learn how you can offer alternative payment methods to your students
• Understand best practices on accepting payments from international students.
• Provide better customer service.
