How customers can get more value from Oracle Student Financial Planning

The Oracle Higher Ed team has just returned from NASFAA 2022, where we had a wonderful time talking with our customers about the ways in
which Oracle Student Financial Planning helps them spend time on students, not process. However, if you weren’t able to make it to Austin this week, there are many other opportunities for our Oracle SFP community to engage with us – and more importantly, each other!

First of all, if you’re a current Oracle SFP customer, you won’t want to miss our Cloud Customer Connect session on July 6 at 11 AM CST. For those of you who have not attended a CCC session before, they offer an in-depth look at the new features and updates for Oracle SFP each quarter. You’ll view demos of the new functionality, learn about best practices, and have the ability to ask questions directly to our SFP subject matter experts: our product managers.

SFP enhancements are based not only on regulatory updates and internal strategy, but your recommendations and ideas from the Idea Labs area of Cloud Customer Connect. Idea Labs – where you can submit your own idea, or share, comment, and vote on others – is central to our cloud strategy at Oracle:  “designed for change, built for you.” Over the past twelve months, the vast majority of our new features came out of customer feedback, and we’re looking to keep that trend going!

Speaking of customers, we want to better serve yours: the students at your institutions. That’s why we created our Student Advisory Group for Oracle SFP last year (AY21/22). Speaking directly to today’s students, hearing about their challenges, frustrations, and overarching visions for improving the financial aid process, listening to their feedback about Oracle SFP, and teaching them about the product development lifecycle: it was an immensely rewarding learning experience for all of us involved.

It's been really exciting to hear how SFP is impacting students positively: Sam, a Butler University student, says that “Oracle SFP has eased the most stressful part of being a first-generation college student in the US: paying for college and how to navigate financial aid. Its ease of use and step-by-step instructions have allowed me to overcome many of the challenges with the financial aid process.”

We can’t say enough great things about the students, and the schools, that helped make the SAG happen. We’re looking to expand the Student Advisory Group for the AY22/23, and we encourage any institution that is an SFP customer – whether you’re fully live, starting your implementation, or have just signed on – to encourage your students to participate. You can find out more about the SAG here and here.

Our commitment to continuous improvement and innovation for SFP can’t happen without you! Join in on any of these activities, and help us build the financial aid solution of the future.
