The University of Maryland, Baltimore Center for Information Technology Services (CITS) has an exciting opportunity available for an IT Enterprise Application Administrator or Senior IT Enterprise Application Administrator for Enterprise Applications. The selected candidate will be part of a team responsible for supporting and maintaining environments in Oracle Cloud and On-Prem People Soft, Ellucian Banner, Banner Suite. Responsibilities include installation, configuration, administration, patching, upgrades, performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting application middleware. This position will work with campus application development, database, infrastructure, and network administration teams, as well as internal and external project implementation teams. Helps to maintain system security strategies, policies, and procedures working in coordination with enterprise security teams. Document and communicate system changes to ensure best practices are adhered.
This is one position that will be filled as an Application Administrator or Senior Application Administrator depending on the selected candidate’s experience and education.

The Senior IT Enterprise Applications Administrator will have broad responsibilities to lead/coordinate a team across enterprise cloud and on-premises environments. Responsibilities include installation, configuration, administration, patching, upgrades, performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting application middleware. This position will coordinate with campus application development, database, infrastructure, and network administration teams, as well as internal and external project implementation teams. Takes lead to maintain system security strategies, policies, and procedures working in coordination with enterprise security teams. Documents and communicates system changes to ensure best practices are adhered.

Primary Duties:
Administrator, IT Enterprise Application
- Follow established procedures and perform middleware installations and configurations.
- Take guidance and administer enterprise cloud middleware services.
- Work on multiple on-premises application systems including webservers, application servers, and report servers on Unix and NT platforms.
- Work with internal staff and vendors to update and communicate environment maintenance schedules, refresh schedules, and outages.
- Perform regular maintenance including applying security patches for various on-premises and cloud applications and services.
- Work with Identity Management team to establish Single Sign-On to applications.
- Assist in implementing security policies for cloud-based systems and on-prem applications.
- Support SaaS administration tasks.
- Review system usage, exports metric data and provides reports.
- Manage Service Requests (SRs) with vendors to address issues.
- Create and maintains thorough documentation to track configuration.
- Assist with resolving user and group access issues to applications.
- Assist in performance improvements.
Senior Administrator, IT Enterprise Application
- Develop standards and manages enterprise cloud middleware services.
- Take lead to create/update and communicate environment maintenance schedules, refresh schedules, and outages.
- Direct regular maintenance including applying security patches for various on-premises and cloud applications and services.
- Take initiative in implementing security policies for cloud-based systems and on-prem applications.
- Proactively work on performance improvements.
- May lead & train other junior administrators.
- Perform the duties of the IT Enterprise Application Administrator.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Administrator, IT Enterprise Application
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Experience: Two (2) years of system administration experience in a production Cloud Infrastructure environment and/or On-Premises Enterprise applications environment with multiple interfaces to other systems required. Experience in provisioning, patching, upgrading, and supporting Enterprise Cloud middleware Services preferred. Experience in webservices, Java installation and support, middleware integration, system monitoring, and performance tuning and troubleshooting preferred. Experience diagramming/documenting system architecture and administration processes preferred. Experience with Ellucian Banner and/or Banner Suite is preferred.
Senior Administrator, IT Enterprise Application
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Experience: Four (4) years of system administration experience in a production Cloud Infrastructure environment and/or On-Premises Enterprise applications environment with multiple interfaces to other systems. Advanced experience in provisioning, patching, upgrading, and supporting Enterprise Cloud middleware Services preferred. Advanced experience in webservices, Java installation and support, middleware integration, system monitoring, and performance tuning and troubleshooting preferred. Expert-level experience diagramming/documenting system architecture and administration processes preferred. Experience with Ellucian Banner and/or Banner Suite is preferred.
Both positions designated as an essential employee who may be required to work on non-business days or outside of normal business hours to ensure the continuity of operations for information technology services.

Ranges are approximate and final salary will be commensurate with related education and experience.
