Many of you will know Curtiss, and given his permission to forward the email, it's safer for me to email the ANZ Heug list rather than try and select individuals who know Curtiss.
Curtiss has been a strong supporter of the HEUG globally and in ANZ; attending many of our conferences. Curtiss has also been a regular contributor at our ANZ Heug Executive Forum.
Personally I will miss him as I have always found him approachable, enthusiastic and willing to assist.

I've decided to take a new position outside of Oracle. My last day with the company will be this Friday, March 12th.
I have seriously mixed emotions about this decision. We have arguably the best competitive position in the global Higher Ed market, demonstrated amazing growth in key markets, and delivered innovative, new products that are viewed favorably by industry analysts and our customer base. We have a strong, global team and a great relationship with the HEUG; I've really enjoyed working with all of you. But I also feel that it's time for me to gain some new experiences and growth opportunities.
I will be joining Boston-based Cengage Learning as Vice President of Strategic Market Development. Cengage is a $3B company with its roots (and 80% of revenues) in higher education. My putative role will be working to accelerate the market development for Cengage's technology enabled curricula, content and assessment solutions. I believe the digital content arena will be among the most dynamic in the education industry over the next few years and will have profound positive impact on the cost of content and the quality of outcomes for students. Those of you who know me well, know that this role will allow me to pursue my passion of using technology to improve the business of education while being closer to home and my young family.
