    Hi Peta

TAFE Qld has built an ASP.Net app that addresses the PeopleSoft copy
reporting database for SMS. This is part of our web reporting
    application.

It has many selection criteria, but some examples are:

*Send an SMS to a class group.
*Send an SMS with mobile and Email to those without mobile to a
class group. (Access PeopleSoft for mobile and email address)
*Send an SMS to all students currently studying.
*Send an SMS to all students in this program who started study
    after X.
*From displayed list, deselect some students not to send SMS.

In each case the list is produced before sending for review. The list
identifies the students with a mobile and not. The mobile phone data
    stored in PeopleSoft is referenced.

The SMS can have (optional) merging of name. E.g. "Dear John".

The process sends an audit email to the SMS requestor of what words were
sent and who the SMS message was sent (All details)

We use company Message Media as the SMS gateway. Has worked well and
reliable over past year. Price 18cents each on our volume of under 1000
    a month.

Please contact me if you would like a demonstration.
