Here at USC we have assessed the functionality and plan to deliever it with customisations post bundle implementation early next year.
In order to complete the assessment we applied the bundle to a demo environment and built it up into actual scenarios. This did take some time but it has allowed us to complete a good assessment without impact/gap analysis of our current customisations. It was also a good excercise from a change management perspective as we could show end users a prototype. All in all it was a fairly straight forward excercise which other then the application of the bundle to the demo environment could all be done via the Functional Business Analysts with little development input.
The following gaps have been identified and it must be noted that they are very specific to USC based on our previous customisations for this area of the system. We may still try to move away from some of this detail but from the perspective of not limiting/reducing end user functionality USC will need to consider the following:
1) The online Graduation Tracking page which would replace our custom Graduation Eligibility Report does not show data such as the Admit Term, total program units, transcript text, cumulative program statistics. Also enrolment data shows non graded components. These extra field/information has been deemed by USC as required information for assessing graduation eligibility in its current process.
2) Students are not required to Apply for Graduation. An additional customisation would be required to Self Service to enforce this at open enrolment (last semester) to support our business rules.
3) Additional queries will be required to support the new process
