Dear Colleagues
Many of you will have heard that there have been significant changes in Oracle staffing in the Asia Pacific meaning that many of those we'd become accustomed to dealing with are no longer around. Concerned about who our key contacts will be in the future, I approached Chanaka Kannangara, the leader of Higher Education and Research for Oracle in Australia. His response is attached.
Prior to attending Alliance in March, I and a number of ANZ HEUG Executive Forum members will be visiting Oracle Headquarters in the US and will be meeting key Oracle leaders to discuss their plans for our region. I will provide further information as it becomes available but in the immediate future Chanaka is our "go to" person.

Dear Gail,
I am writing in response to your query regarding the changes in structure within Oracle serving the Higher Education and Research Industry.
Oracle is currently investing to focus on key industry segments so that it has a team of professionals with the right level of authority and relationship within and outside Oracle to have a deep, broad and ongoing relationship with key industry segments and accounts. These industry positions will have the ability and authority to provide a holistic cross functional engagement with clients and Oracle.
Recognising it's status as a key industry segment in ANZ, Oracle has created the Higher Education and Research Industry Leader role to provide this function and ongoing liaison, relationship and leadership with the Higher Education Sector. This role reports through to the ANZ Managing Director's Office and with it, Oracle is focusing its efforts in not only driving higher level of value, but deeper executive engagement across this industry. Oracle values the community's continued support, and is comfortable that it shall continue to provide an enhanced level of support back to the community.
As the current incumbent of the Higher Education and Research Industry Leader role, I am looking forward to represent all Oracle Lines of Businesses and to work closely with your organisation to make this relationship a mutually respectful and beneficial one.
