  • 1.  Chair of ANZ HEUG - Outcome of Election

    Posted 10-11-2015 06:08 PM
    Dear colleagues

On 11 September I wrote to call for nominations to the Chair of the ANZ
HEUG, following advice from Gail White that she was stepping down from the
role after five years. I received one nomination by the closing date of
    Friday 8 October 2015.

I am therefore delighted to declare *Mark Erickson* elected for the
remainder of the current term from 4 November 2015 to 31 October 2016.

Mark is Registrar at the Australian National University and is well known
as an active member of the ANZ HEUG. I include below the statement that he
    provided with his nomination.

I have been an active supporter of, and contributor to, the ANZ HEUG
Community for over 15 years and I believe I am well placed to take on the
role of ANZ HEUG Chair. In my time as a HEUG Community member I have been
a regular attendee and presenter at HEUG conferences and Executive forums.
I was a member of the global Admissions PAG from 2006-2009 and founding
co-chair of the ANZ Student PAG from 2007 to 2009. I have been a strong
advocate for the inclusion of ANZ led enhancements to Campus Solutions
working with Oracle on initiatives such as admissions web services,
graduations management and research candidature management. I have also
actively supported our collaboration as a user community by sharing the
work of our institution and hosting intensive workshops to find solutions
to common problems such as the implementation of the Student Services and
    Amenities Fee.

I genuinely believe that the advocacy and constructive support the ANZ HEUG
provides makes a difference in our relationship with Oracle and the global
HEUG. As Chair of the ANZ HEUG I would continue the great work of my
    predecessors:

    - Ensuring ANZ has a strong voice in Oracle and the global HEUG influencing
the direction of the applications so critical to the effective functioning
    of our institutions;

    - Supporting the incredibly important role our colleagues play contributing
to PAGs and other forums, and representing our interests across all the
    Oracle product lines; and

    - Broadening our collaboration which benefits all our institutions through
the sharing our challenges and the efforts needed to meet them.

    Hi Maddy,

Thank you for the update on the new Chair of the ANZ HEUG.

Are you able to give me the contact details of the person who is the Chair of the Student PAG.

The FedUni PAG representative left the university back in May and we have not had representation on the PAG since then. We now have a new person who can attend the PAG and the HEUG and I would like to get them voted on the PAG as soon as possible.

    Thanks for your assistance.

    Cheers
    Kathryn McNamara
