    ANU is currently looking at replacing some of our more heavily modified processes with delivered functionality.

    Is there anyone who is currently using delivered functionality for any of the following and would be willing to discuss?

    * Student Self-Service (and Student Messaging)

    * Graduations

    * Research Management

    * Financial AID for Scholarships

    Thanks,

    Dear Michael,

    UQ has implemented Financial Aid last year for the payment of senate approved scholarships.

    You may wish to refer to a presentation (https://www.heug.org/p/do/sd/topic=3&sid=21191) I did for last year's HEUG for an overview.

    And am more than happy to talk more if needed.

    Regards,

    Hello Michael

    UQ will be looking at reverting to delivered functionality for both Graduations and Research Management, but this will most likely be done as part of our upgrade to CS 9.2. The upgrade has been tentatively scheduled for 2017, but we hope to start preparatory work in the second half of this year.

    We’re already using Financial Aid to disburse payments for our centrally administered scholarships and have found it to work very well.

    Hi Michael

    Here at USC we use the following:

    * Student Self Service - Modified to assist useability for class based enrolment

    * Graduation as delivered. We have created our own event management component as event management was outside scope of delivered graduation module

    * Financial Aid as delivered. Created a modification for students to supply bank account details as this is outside scope of delivered Financial Aid.

    We do not use the following at this stage, we would like to:

    * Research Management

    * Student Messaging

    We are very happy with the delivered features we have rolled out. Delivered Student Self Service is looking a bit tired but with the intro of tools like Rules Engine or even the new branding (8.54) it could look nicer. We are waiting for 9.2 to see what they deliver in this space before we do too much work.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Kim,
    With regard to your email below, specifically 'Research Management' have you just implemented the "Financial Aid" module?

    Here at Adelaide University we are considering using "PeopleSoft Grants" for our Research Management needs. As far as I'm aware, only University of Queensland have implemented this module in Australia.

    Would you be happy to discuss further?

    Hi Michael,

    Further to Kim Murphy's points - here at UniSA we will be reviewing the new 9.2 funcitonality, in particularly the student self service, to look at returning to delivered functionality.  That will begin around mid year for us.

    Cheers

    Thanks for the reply Matt,

    After an initial review of moving to delivered functionality pre-9.2 upgrade, we’ve decided to keep our modified version of self service and look at a fit-gap until we can review 9.2 functionality after we upgrade late this year.

    The largest part of this fit gap will be replacing our Student Task Wizard. I’m considering an Activity Guide with some small modifications to force new and continuing students through it at certain intervals to update personal and emergency information, etc.

    Would be very interested in the results of your 9.2 self-service review. We’re currently in the process of having a test environment setup.

    Regards,

    Michael
